Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

I found the most Amazing recipe to bake Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies!  You are probably wondering if it really tastes delicious and will it be too dry since it’s made of whole wheat flour.  I gave this to my family, internship supervisors, advisors, and club members and all of their opinions were of the same.  I will quote one of my advisors who said “This is like a blondie in a cookie form.”  

This cookie has no grainy or dry texture.  It’s sweet, moist, chewy, and healthy! I will definitely make this again and again. This will become milk’s new best friend…sorry Oreos.  🙂

Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies by 100 Days of Real Food; Note: I have modified this recipe

Yields 16-20 cookies


  • 1 1/4 cup of whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 unsalted stick butter (8 tablespoons), room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark brown)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips, butterscotch or white chocolate chips
  • Dash of ground cinnamon


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Sift and combine dry ingredients in separate bowl-flour, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon; Whisk together
  3. Cream or blend sugar and butter together for 4-5 minutes with electric mixer
  4. Add egg and vanilla extract and mix well
  5. Slowly pour in dry ingredients while mixer is on low
  6. Stir in chocolate chips or other toppings
  7. Freeze or chill your cookie dough for 30 minutes
  8. Put on small spoonfuls of dough onto cookie sheet/tray and bake for 7-9 minutes
  9. Transfer onto plate or wired rack to let cookies cool off.  Serve and Enjoy!
